WordPress 3.8.1 was launched today with more than 30 issues addessed from the previous release. For those who have 3.8 already installed automatic background updates will take place over the next 24 hours.
One of the biggest issues addressed was switching Twitter oEmbed to SSL. Twitter changed its API last year, which broke all Twitter oEmbed links across WordPress installations. If you have a lot of content with tweets embedded, then upgrading to WordPress 3.8.1 will rectify these issues.
WordPress 3.8.1 also addresses issues with taxonomy queries in WP_Query, general fixes for the new admin areas and also resolves an issue with “dead zones” on the submit buttons.
